So I have to have a rough idea of when things might have changed, and then to move forwards/backwards in time until I find the revision I want. With Borg, I have to first choose a date I want to restore from, then the file. A restore system which is more file-focused.With SpiderOak, because of the way it worked, it would immediately "chunk" and encrypt a file as it was written then queue it for upload so I would be able to keep most/all of the revisions. With my replacement plan, if I edit a file several times in half an hour, I will lose all the revisions. I like "inotify-triggered" backups (or the Windows/macOS equivalent).But there are two things that I do like about SpiderOak so I'm wondering what other options there are that might be closer: I've set up Syncthing between some machines (one always-on) to cover the syncing, and I've configured Borgmatic on the always-on machine with half-hourly backups.

I'm bored of seeing release notes in their RSS feed for what I would call "fringe" products (Encryptr because the world needs more password managers and their Slack/Teams equivalent that will never gain serious traction) while they ignore their core product (see the bottom of the post for details).
